Summary: SafeDrive processes all data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on external servers.
SafeDrive ("we", "our", or "the App") is a mobile application designed to promote safe driving by automatically detecting when you are driving and temporarily blocking access to distracting messaging and social media apps. Your privacy is important to us, and this policy explains how the App handles your information.
SafeDrive processes the following types of information locally on your device only:
| Data Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Motion & Activity Data (Health Data) | Detect whether you are driving, walking, or stationary using your device's sensors and Google Play Services Activity Recognition. This is classified as Health Data under Google Play policies. See Section 2a below for full details. |
| App Usage Detection | Identify when a blocked app is opened while driving, so the App can display a safety screen |
| User Preferences | Store your settings such as blocking toggle state and detection mode preference |
Important: None of this data is transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party. All processing happens entirely on your device.
SafeDrive accesses Health Data as defined by Google Play's User Data policy. Specifically, the App accesses physical activity data (such as driving, walking, and stationary status) through the Android Activity Recognition API and Google Play Services Activity Recognition API.

SafeDrive requires the following Android permissions to function:
Used to detect driving and walking activity through your device's motion sensors and Google Play Services. This data is processed in real-time and is not stored or transmitted.
SafeDrive uses the Android Accessibility Service solely to detect when a blocked app is launched while you are driving. The Accessibility Service is used to:
The Accessibility Service is not used to read, collect, or transmit the content of any app, message, screen, or notification.
Required to keep the motion detection running reliably in the background while you drive. A persistent notification is shown to indicate the App is active.
Used to display your current driving status (driving, walking, or stopped) in the notification bar.
SafeDrive processes motion and activity data in real-time and does not maintain a history or log of your driving sessions, app usage, or motion data. User preferences (such as whether blocking is enabled) are stored locally on your device and can be cleared by uninstalling the App.
SafeDrive uses Google Play Services Activity Recognition API to help detect driving activity. This service runs on your device and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. SafeDrive does not integrate any other third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising frameworks.
SafeDrive does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect personal data, it is compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Since SafeDrive does not collect or transmit data to external servers, your information remains on your device and is protected by your device's own security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.).
